Report made 12/8/2006 5:47 PM PST

This individual arrived at our Laguna Beach sting operation and was arrested, yet another arrest and conviction in California. McAlister didn't say much during his chat, but that earned him a year in jail anyways along with dozens of pre-incarceration and post-sentencing restrictions.

McAlister will begin serving his year in prison in mid-2007.

    Notes from the Contributor, Erich
Benjamin McAlister is my first conviction. He was a quick mover, leaving his house only two hours and fifteen minutes after the chat began on AOL.

I was very impressed from all the help I received prior to logging on my instant messaging. By the time Benjamin came to the bust house and was arrested I had so much help from other volunteers, from my Verifiers to Content Creators and everyone else in between. This includes formites who may not have known what I as doing but offered a good laugh or simple communication while I was talking to McAlister. I want to thank them all.

The most important part of this conviction is that McAlister has to register in the RSO for the rest of his life. He has been sent to prison for a year, but once he is released, I want to make sure the chances he re-offend are reduced. Simply knowing the neighbors have the ability to see his photograph and address will help me sleep at tonight.

This was one of the strangest sententances I have ever seen. The good part is the fact that if he skips out next year, he is looking at four years behind bars.

This is our 112th conviction since June of 2004 and our 72nd conviction for the year 2006 thus far.
