Martin McAllister is a serial child molester. Prior to his engaging our volunteer in chat, he had molested at least two young girls. We know that because after McAllister was caught trying to meet our decoy persona, they came forward and made their stories known. Some people are under the delusion that \"Guys that chat online aren't like real child molesters\"... to that, we say... look at Martin McAllister.

For his chat and the previous molestations his arrest uncovered, McAllister was sentenced to thirty years in jail. He's guaranteed to serve at least eighteen of those years. Score one for the justice system, individuals like this are too dangerous to be treated lightly.

    Contributor notes from Irish Rose
Martin McAllister is a truck driver from New York who solicited who he thought was a 13 year old girl living in Twiggs County Georgia. Over the course of eight days, he chatted with my minor profile while texting from his cell phone and from his laptop in his truck, showing me on his cam the interior of his truck, what he was seeing outside his windows, and also exposing himself on cam in a way no 13 year old should see. He also asked to meet for sex with who he thought was this 13 year old girl. When he stopped at a truck stop within walking distance of where he believed the child lived, it was officers from the Twiggs County Sheriff's department who were waiting for him.

We often have cases where real victims are identified as a result of our work bringing an individual to the attention of law enforcement. Their actions of soliciting a minor for sex, with solid evidence that can be used, sometimes result in the reopening of prior reports that were never charged, result in investigations into past or current relationships with minors, or forensics on their computers reveal evidence of other crimes. This is not often mentioned in our conviction write-ups, sometimes because these other investigations are then on-going and because we certainly want to protect the privacy of these young victims. I feel it worth mentioning this here because there were two brave young women who are believed to be prior victims, who came forward and agreed to testify in this case. I can only hope that knowing that this man will no longer be a danger for a long time, gives them some peace, if possible.

In a media article about this conviction found here, Twiggs County Sheriff Darren Mitchum was quoted saying \"I think that this shows that these cases are well put together and very prosecutable when the defendant and his attorney can find no other way of getting out of this other than pleading on the mercy of the court\".

Our Contributors constantly receive such praise, although it does not always make it to media print. Prosecutors, law enforcement, juries and even judges, thank us for what we do, shake our hands and even hug us. They see what goes into working a case like this. But although the thanks and praise are gratifying, the truth is...what really keeps us going is knowing that a real child was saved from this dangerous situation and that countless others are now a little safer...stories such as that of the brave girls mentioned above who may now hopefully have some peace of mind...and knowing that at least for a while, the individuals convicted as a result of our work will not be a danger to real children.

For one count of Criminal Attempt to Commit Aggravated Child Molestation, Martin McAllister was sentenced to 30 years, 18 of which he must serve in prison before his parole eligibility is determined by the Board of Pardons and Paroles. He will also have to register as a sex offender when he is released. Many thanks to Major James Faulk of the Twiggs County Georgia Sheriff's Office, Twiggs County Sheriff Darren Mitchum, District Attorney Chad Pritchett and Judge Donald Gillis. Their investigation and work on this case was outstanding. This sentence sends a strong message to predators who would think of preying on the children under their protection.

Aloe Vera, the phone verifier on this case, did an excellent job. She has my gratitude and respect, as always, for her dedication and quality work.

This is our 280th conviction since June of 2004 and our 18th conviction for 2008 thus far.
