Jerone Basa showed up at a location and was arrested. Long-time site readers know the drill, men arriving to have sex with what they think are underage females or males. Jerone is just one of hundreds we've gotten arrested just this year, and one of 27 of those convicted so far in 2006. He'll now get to face a good period of jail time and registry on California's sex offender list.

Notes from the Contributor, Maxwell House
I was working in the Palm Springs, CA area when I was approached by sweet_jason002, Jerone Basa, in March of 2006. Jerone didn't take a whole lot of time. He was ready to meet for sex after just one chat, but ended up having to be postponed for a day. That didn't deter Jerone; he showed up just as he said he would to molest little Lissa.

Instead of meeting Lissa, Jerone was met by Officer Mike Kovaleff of the Palm Springs PD. Upon his arrest his cell phone was confiscated, and on the cell phone call history they found the verification call made by WyldKat. Jerone confessed to everything.

Jerone reached a plea agreement with prosecutors. He would plead guilty, and in exchange receive 18 months in state prison. He also requested some time before reporting to serve his sentence. In exchange for that time, he was sentenced to four years in state prison, to be reduced to 18 months if he reports as ordered in September. If he fails to report and a warrant is issued, he'll serve the entire four years. Once released, Jerone will have to register as a sex offender.

Many thanks to Officer Mike Kovaleff and the rest of the Palm Springs PD, and to Deputy District Attorney Otis Sterling, for making the apprehension and prosecution of those who would prey upon children a priority.

This is our 67th conviction since June of 2004 and our 27th conviction for the year 2006 thus far. This is YET another California conviction, one from our Palm Springs sting which netted three guys and was filmed by the television show COPS. We're quite pleased with the outcome and would like to thank everyone in Palm Springs that worked on this case.
