Report made 8/24/2005 10:53 PM PST

Steve Tupper was posted on December 29th after this story ran in Idaho detailing his arrest after site contributor Icarus informed Idaho Falls police about the chat. They acted quickly in arresting Tupper and did a great job. Tupper strung up the process for a while before finally giving up and plea'ing guilty to one count of sexually enticing a child.

It only took Tupper literally seven minutes to ask the 13 year old he was soliciting about sex. In contrast, it took him nearly ten months to finally plead guilty to doing so. His sentencing will see him face up to fifteen years in prison or as little as probation and registration as a sex offender. It's all up to the judge now.

    Notes from the Contributor, Icarus
And guilty! How ironic that Steve would send me a pic of himself in front of a jail cell. You can say I am pleased with this conviction. It is based soley on the chat. We never did get a chance to set up a meet. After Steve Tupper confessed to having met a 14 yr old previously, I immediately contacted the Idaho Falls Police Department. They got back to me in short order and I turned all my evidence over to them. The good news is that Steve did claim that there never was a previous girl. It is also the first time they have used this law in their jurisdiction.

A big thank you to them and especially Detective Galbreaith. Per Detective Galbreaith \"Also, we are using new legislation on this case. It is enticing over the internet and has never been used in this jurisdiction before. When it has come up before, we just used a sex crime code. I think this case fits the new law like a glove. It was a pleasure working with you on this. Anything that comes up in the future, please let me know and we'll get another one.\" I also would like to thank Punkiegirl for her verification. Without our verifiers, we would be nowhere

This marks our fifth conviction for August 2005, our 22nd conviction for the year and 29th conviction since June of 2004. This is our very first conviction in Idaho, giving us a grand total of 20 states where we have convictions. Thanks to the Idaho Falls detectives who jumped on this, their proactive dedication was much appreciated.
