Yes, Jesus had to be in Federal court the next day for a hearing on his charges of second degree sexual assault of a child. He was out on bond when he hit up our decoy. He took a taxi to meet and have sex with what he thought was a 13 year old girl, but instead met law enforcement officers in Meriden, CT.

Jesus Lucero isn't our first repeat offender to be arrested. He isn't even our first predator to be arrested while facing other charges for the sexual assault of a minor. He is, however, another good example of why we do what we do. Predators like Jesus Lucero just don't stop unless they're removed from society. Lucero will be removed from society for a while. He faced two charges based on his chats with our decoy, and received two years on each charge. His previous case earned him 8 years, all but two years suspended, and 25 years of probation. Lucero will be watched for a long time.

    Notes from the Contributor, Junesy:
While not being the most sexually graphic chat I've encountered, Jesus was determined to meet a 13 year old girl for sex. The fact that he had been arrested about 6 months ago on a felony involving a 15 year old girl and his Dad's car's back seat didn't seem to slow him down much. After encountering a number of serious obstacles: a family emergency, a kick in the head and a family snitch, he still managed to get on a train, attempt to drive a borrowed car (that wouldn't start) and finally taking a taxi over 50 miles, he finally got his wish - a pair of nice shiny silver cuffs, 2 guilty pleas and 2 guilty verdicts. He's now serving 4 years in the Connecticut correctional system.

This is our 593rd conviction since June of 2004.
